Moving around the country doing Funshops in living rooms for 5-10 people is quite a humble move. It sets up no expectations, just the right people come and receive what they need to receive. It’s very different from the few things I have attended or organized in the past… this is spread via local word of mouth. No advertising, or promoting. And yet, everywhere that we’ve been has been transformational- both for Micha’el and I and the attendees of our Funshops. Its been fascinating to see the look in their eyes when we start- it’s usually a blend of confusion and curiosity. What are we doing? I thought this was a marketing workshop?… and as we move deeper into the Fun, exploring connection/ community, trust, and gratitude, eyes start lighting up. Then we get to the media component- and usually this is tough. Most healers are camera shy… and so, sometimes there is laughter covering up unease.
Thus far, the Funshops have been phenomenal. In Long Island, the group’s overall take-away was “we need to just jump in and try it”. Great! And yes, we (Micha’el and I) will absolutely support you in any way we can. So after committing to monthly conversations over skype, a group of 5+ healers is ready to jump in and try it out. What would gifting healing & wellness look like in Long Island? We’ll see!
A few days after that we headed to DC/MD. The evening we got there was a film screening of Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 days. About 45 people showed up- and we met Evans Craig, a Native American leader who is organizing a diabetes Summit in the DC-area in July! He’s one of Micha’el’s inspirations so it was touching to see him there- and hear the words that he offered about the movie afterwards. Not to mention, we might be going back to DC for a few days to speak at the Summit!
The next day, there were about 5 healers for a six hour Funshop on a weekday. That alone is pretty impressive. And, one of them just started the Nourishing Journeys healing center not too long ago. Their overhead is super-high but they are planning on offering some services to the community and hope leverage help from some high school students to get involved in some of their projects. It will be interesting to see what unfolds.
The Money & Media Funshop in Chicago was absolutely phenomenal. The group was small- about 6 of us total. And yet, the power was magnificent. Everyone felt moved into transformative consciousness. One of the healers who just opened a clinic in the basement of her home was so rocked because she knew the gift-culture principles on some level but felt a disconnect from that in starting her business. Because of this, she kept postponing the start of her clinic. After the Funshop, she was inspired to explore ways to bridge her ideals and values into the world of business. For her, the gift-economy based practice was really a timely revelation and is very applicable to what she is attempting to manifest.
Then, we were off to Little Rock! We had a small sunrise meditation, for the Solstice, this morning with friends from the Elevate Center. It was an incredible turnout for 5AM! And, several of them mentioned that they were so excited about the upcoming Funshop and that it was needed by many that they knew of. It’s such an honor to be received so openly.

And, along the way we have received many blessings and gifts. One of the main gifts for me is just the ability to share my passion and work and have others be inspired by it. Inspired not just as a concept, but for it to be really received, felt, and used as inspiration to manifest their own vision. It is definitely not about re-creating the same model of Karma Clinic everywhere- it is more useful if we create models that work throughout the country, for each unique practice, with the common thread of values and helping shift the paradigm toward more awareness and alignment with where humanity is headed.
Other gifts we have received include many gracious hosts who have opened their homes for us to stay, as well as for us to do the Funshops. Not to mention, picking us up and dropping us off at various locations. In addition, almost every host has offered us food- organic, often local, and often raw. It feels like a blessing to meet amazing people, travel the country, be of service, and receive so many other gifts in the process.

After growing the mushrooms (next to the sprouts in a jar, with dehydrator and juicer in the background), Dr. Shah harvested the mushrooms and added them to a dish!

Join in “Vitamin M” (stands for the nourishment that begins with meditation, that is). The goal is 40 minutes of meditation and 30 minutes of inspired sharing on living a lifestyle of positive, whole-person well-being.  The group is an optimal, nurturing setting for people shifting lifestyle behaviors, choosing a different path in life, coming out of illness, lifting their mood, and other.
